Welcome to the online home for the TRCC 2015 Co-Project Roundtable, running through 10/17  extended through 11/4.  This pad provides current "news," an overview, schedule, and outline of  what is requested of participants. The menu bar above links to specific pads for each phase of our process. Each pad also has a clickable table of contents in the right hand margin. More on how to use hackpad here. Roundtable News! (Updated Friday, 12/12/14)

Here is the final news from Part One of the Roundtable process, which finished up prior to our in-person gathering in Oakland on 11/9-10.
  • The Roundtable is complete! Thank you to all +twenty-seven people who participated. We request that everyone participating in our in-person gathering in Oakland on November 9-10 review the content that has been generated, and in particular that you read each of the "+co-project seed one-pagers"  (list below). Other things you might review include:
  • The +Bike Rack, featuring art, music, and inspiring ideas. For example, +this awesome TED talk from participant Michelle Holliday, and this video of Leonard Cohen performing his inspirational Anthem.
  • Eleven co-project "one pagers" were submitted by the 11/4 deadline (thank you all!). Highlighted seeds are now the "sprouts" that will receive RFPs.
  • +Co-Project Seed 7 Building Local Living Economies through the Climate Justice Alliance
  • +Co-Project Seed 8 Weaving Community Resilience in Service of Food Sovereignty
  • +Co-Project Seed 9 Food, Money, Power: Collective Resilience for a Healthy Planet
  • +Co-Project Seed 10 Social Justice Youth Leaders in the Community Resilience Challenge
  • +Co-Project Seed 11 Add-on: Sur-thrival Play: Build the Capacities of Resiliency through Applied Improvisation Playshops

Why We're Doing This

Threshold’s Thriving Resilient Communities Funding Circle (TRCF) is piloting a leading-edge collaborative funding process. TRCF will fund a $50,000 collaborative multi-partner “co-project” in March 2015 in collaboration with TRC Collaboratory (TRCC) activists and interested funders (who may possibly/no promises offer additional money beyond the $50,000 TRCF has committed).

Through this co-project, we want to take the next big step in inclusive TRC movement-building by prototyping a democratic and collaborative process that might ultimately enable billions of dollars to flow into the Movement from philanthropists and investors.

This Roundtable will set the stage for the TRCC Circle to decide what organizations will receive RFPs for the co-project at our in-person gathering on Nov. 9-10 (details TBA). It will also provide essential information to guide our design of that gathering, and the design of our proposal creation conversations and selection process, which will take place through February 2015.

What We're Doing

Schedule
The Roundtable alternates between online rounds via these hackpads and live conversation via MaestroConference calls. Participation in all phases is NOT required (see below for expectations).
  • +Call One: 10/10, 9:30-11:30am PT (~30 min advance reading of hackpads plus 90 min minimum on call)
  • +Call Two: 10/14, 9-11am PT (~30 min advance reading of hackpads plus 90 min minimum on call)
  • +Bike Rack (a place to park items of value that may not fit within the current round of dialogue)

Participants are expected to:
  • Commit a minimum of three hours to this process:
  • 45 min reading, 45 min posting to hackpad, 90 min call
  • Optional "full" participation in all components = eight hrs
  • Engage via hackpad for at least one round of your choosing
  • Join (or have a proxy present for) at least one call. A proxy is someone who understands what you and your organization bring to the table. Alternatively, you can ask one of the hosts (Ben, Leslie, and Mateo), or another participant, to connect with you one-one before a call so they can act as your proxy.

Process Design and Hosting
The co-project process design team consists of TRCC Stewards Ben Roberts and Leslie Meehan (also on TRCF), Movement Generation Staff Co-Director Mateo Nube, and TRCF members Sarah Stranahan and Max Milton. +Design Team notes can be viewed here. Ben Roberts is the primary host for the Roundtable process. His email is ben@conversationcollaborative.com
