Challenges

The Destination City programme aims to make the Square Mile more of a leisure destination through major events and a marketing website.  How can residents ensure that DC helps also create a Liveable City?  How could that also contribute to the main aim by developing and promoting attractions that complement the major DC projects? How to can the City’s neighbours benefit from the programme - and City resident make the most of nearby neighbourhoods?

City statement

The Corporation’s intention with Destination City is to make the City a better place to live, as well as to visit. Currently, too much of our City is closed on the weekend, by shopping locally, exploring the City’s cultural gems and engaging with Destination City events such as the upcoming Bartholomew’s Fair in September. you can help ensure that our City remains open to you 7 days a week.

Additionally, a Corporation Common Councillor who resides within the City has joined the City Envoy Network to represent the collective views of residents.
