Breadcrumb patterns

Overview

  • A breadcrumb ribbon is a module complied of elements that sits at the top of a page directly underneath the header.

When to use this pattern

  • Breadcrumb ribbons can be used throughout a site. 
  • This module helps to guide the user through their online journey of the site. 

When NOT to use this pattern

  • It is appropriate to not use the module in the instance of one page site where no navigation is used or needed. 

How it works

  • The breadcrumb ribbon is placed underneath the header in all instances.
