These "What's in Motion?" pads index organizations that the group convening here is already connected to (or interested in) AND that one or more of us believes might be built upon or partnered with in our work going forward.

Eventually, we might compile these into a searchable database. For now, this list can help us to get started, see the bigger picture, and imagine +the "adjacent possible" for conversations co-convened by those of us who are currently showing up.

  • Each participant is invited to add to this list, using a blank template below.  Note: you must sign into hackpad to edit this page, using either Facebook, Google, or an email and password you set up. More on how to use hackpad here.

New Stories/Great Transition Stories

  • New Stories is a 501(c)(3) educational organization incorporated in the state of Washington. We serve as a collaboratory of people and a constellation of projects gathered around a central flame of nurturing the emergence of new stories for who we are as humanity, what we can become together and how to navigate the process of change. We believe the stories we tell ourselves set our course for the future. When we turn to Life for inspiration, our stories motivate and support us as we engage our rapidly changing world.
  • Purpose: Our purpose is to utilize and expand the field of story as a primary tool for social innovation by gathering, co-evolving, and disseminating new images and practices that inspire, encourage and guide creative responses to the unprecedented cultural transformation of our times.
  • Mission: New Stories helps individuals, organizations, and communities shed old ways of doing and thinking and step into the new stories of their lives.
  •
  • Team: The New Stories Team is a community of master practitioners — social process designers, facilitators, community organizers, mindfulness guides, artists and storytellers — from North America and around the world.  We share many values, principles and beliefs, including a sense that we live in a time when old structures are disintegrating at the same time as new ones are being born.

  • Great Transition Stories--a project of New Stories.
  •
  • It is vital that the human community come together and consciously co-create visions and stories of a sustainable and thriving relationship with the Earth and one another. Great Transition Stories is taking an important step in that direction by: 1) gathering leading-edge scholarship and wisdom that presents stories of great turning and transition and, 2) by making that wisdom available widely to educators, the general public, green businesses, storytellers, and more. As an organization and community, our intention is to be of service to a world in transition; therefore, Great Transition Stories is an open-source collaboration
