I am Andraste Verani, a wood elf from the Forest of Cormanthor. I have dark skin, golden brown eyes, and long dark brown hair usually kept in braids. I'm average height and build, and in my second or third century of age. I'm a granddaughter of Natalya of the Sunset Warriors via my mother, and at my coming of age I inherited her longbow, Dragonwood.
Family:
my mother Siliqua, Natalya's only child(with whom? a mystery perhaps). She has valued protecting her family and home more than being some kind of conventional hero. I always thought it a shame that she squandered our legacy, and told myself I would never do the same.
my father Quercus. A scholar, a healer, a keen observer and a calm mind. I would perhaps disregard him as a coward and a homebody, but I've also never actually seen him lose a battle or an argument.(This is also why I never fight with him.)
I've always been a skilled archer and adept at navigating the wilderness for the protection of my people, but at some point a series of dangerous incursions and corruptions from the Shadowfell(namely the city of Irithyll) opened my eyes to more important, more otherworldly, threats for me to face. My efforts in this direction earned me the notice of the Magnus Melanura of the Silver Helix, an ancient order dedicated to preserving the balance of the outer planes. I have been a member for many years now.
Recently I've been tasked by Emmantiensien to investigate undead sightings and other mischief near Cormyr and Dragon Lake. I'm also aware of the disturbing happenings in the north and in particular the death of Chorom, but haven't been directly involved. I’ve currently been sent north to gather intel and meet with Adalon of Icewind Dale.
not religious, though I have great respect for the power of deities – more like an extra powerful beings than a wholly different category requiring worship. I won't pledge unconditional loyalty or devotion to individuals in this way, but I do have commitment to the cause of SH and protection of communities in general.
someone with a great name to live up to, can be overly confident – I'm susceptible to risky behaviour even while claiming to discourage recklessness in others
focus on my destiny/bigger picture can sometimes be to the detriment of my relationships with others. For instance, I'm somewhat estranged from my wood elf brethren, who tend to be more close-minded and insufficiently concerned with multiversal balance and suchlike.
friends with dragons – Adalon, also just generally friendly to dragons, would never skin one for armor even if it would be really cool.
also friends with Vaeros in Baldur’s gate – acts as Socratic druid figure

What I might know
demonlords around but not sure why
investigated undead settlement in Cormyr
behaviour unusual for undead - lich-like
can get more info from Adalon
some teleporation ability, but also scouting the area
you would know about a powerful group of champions based in waterdeep that's been running errands for the various mages guilds with an unclear motivation
consisting of a thiefling, an intimidating goliath, and occasionally a rogueish figure
noticed by various thieves guilds in waterdeep, luskan and neverwinter
selling extremely powerful artifacts on the black market
you heard they were present in the demonlord assault on waterdeep
then they disappeared off the radar for a while at the same time as luskan's demise from a gnoll incursion(and the party was spotted there around the same time), but a lot of thieves guild contacts vanished a that time naturally
resurfaced in waterdeep later
