Take Home Exam: Reflective Essay

Purpose 🎯 

The purpose of this form of writing is to provide an opportunity for reflection on your work. This is a scholarly essay — not a simple ‘diary’ or anecdotal retelling — in which you should elaborate upon and contextualise on your experience within the current cultural context. Through this assessment you will apply skills in critical reflection, academic and media research, documentation, and writing

To complete your Take Home Exam: Reflective Essay
  1. The topic of the Essay will focus on a major assessment task completed this semester
  1. To prepare for the Take Home Exam: Reflective Essay, it is important that you are familiar with the readings provided to you through the semester. 
  1. On 9:00am on Tuesday, 19th of May you will receive a specific Essay Question.
  1. You will have until 5:00pm on Tuesday, 19th of May to complete and submit your Take Home Exam: Reflective Essay

Review all the materials covered this semester, including:
  • Assessment tasks
  • Lecture slides and lecture notes 
  • Readings and the text book
  • TIP: identify what you already know and understand, what you need to know, and how you can find out and/or learn additional information

Step 3: Critically Engage 
To help you engage with the material, it is recommended that you: 
  • Annotate your notes 
  • Draw a mind map or diagram of information you have
  • Write summaries in your own words
  • Develop a list of key terms and concepts 
  • Draft questions to test knowledge of the material you have just studied
