  • Please use the this space to share your thoughts now about Tom’s original question and what occurred for you over this past month of involvement: What do we, as members of the dialogue and deliberation community of practice, have to be and do to enable our most positive transformational impact in the face of emerging global crises which fundamentally challenge our business-as-usual habits and systems?
  •
  • Use the queries below if they help but don’t feel bound to respond to them or be in any way limited by them. Tell the stories and give the details that will make your ideas and experiences come alive.
  •
  • I am currently quite interested in the "tiny house" movement.  It is quite active in America, and many other countries in the world.  People are seeking to build their own homes, empower themselves in doing so, live comfortably with fewer possessions, enjoy more experiences, lower their debts, etc.  I will definitely commit to pursuing this passion after these calls.  I see it as a highly practical way for many to help themselves, as well as others.
  •
  • What you gained:  What new insights, challenges, ideas, inquiries, or actions came up for you from your participation this past month? What possibilities have opened up or been further reinforced?
  •
  • I mentioned that part of the value I appreciate from these calls is the ability to gather round the campfire touching these 'points of light' from around the world.   I quite appreciate small groups and the magic that is created and presents itself therein. I loved when Tom summed up my appreciation of the experience of this magic with the metaphor of, "the magic in the middle" that encircles the campfire.
  •
  • What you experienced: How did you feel or change at different points in this process? Which processes did you participate in? Which were new to you? For processes you’ve experienced before, what was it like doing them online? What worked for you, and why? What didn’t? How might you use or change these processes on another occasion? What about the web tools used? Maestro? Hackpads? Zoom (if you experienced that)? Any others?
  •
  • I experienced a brief respite from world, the beauty of sojourning with like-minded members of my tribe, all of which offers me a balm of hope for the worldwide tribe.
  •
  • Hackpad is fascinating, but still confusing for me, but I'll continue to work with it.  I am a Maestro driver, but I still enjoyed the breakout view aspect on these calls.
  •
  • What next: What are you doing, will do or might do as related at least in part to the question that brought us together and/or as a result of what we have done together? Who else would (might) you involve?
  •
  • I participate with Eric and Elaine Hansen in their, "In the Clouds with A Small Group."  Once a month, they craft a wonderful container for conversations via agreements and questions.  It is safe, intimate, and highly enjoyable.  I usually experience "magic" every time as well.  I would invite them to participate and offer suggestions.
  •
  • I have been offering my daughter ideas in designing her own "tiny home".  She found a free tiny house design software, including 3D imaging.  She's just the type to actually build one as well!

Bruce Schuman: Laurie, I love your thoughts about "the magic in the middle".  I hope to hear more about your vision of magic.
