  • “Hi _____, thank you for taking your time to participate in this user interview. My name is Aaron No, and I’ll be conducting the interview today.

  • In the scope of our project, I would like to find out key pain points in buying a pre-sale apartment in Vietnam. If you feel uncomfortable answering any of the questions, just let me know and we can skip them. Keep in mind that there are no wrong answers and I value your honest opinions. The expected length of interview is under 30 minutes.

  • If you don’t mind, I would like to voice record the interview; It will only be used internally, for the purposes of this research. Do you have any questions before we start?”

  1. What kind of apps do you normally use?
I often use Instagram and Facebook in my spare time.
I use Facebook, GrabTaxi, and Pregnancy apps.
I use Game apps, Duolingo, and Health management apps.
  1. What real estate apps do you currently use? When did you last use them? Why?
I don’t use any real estate apps. I don’t know any of them because I think internet websites provide sufficient information.
I currently don’t use any real estate apps. Last year, I used several apps for research purpose.
No, I’m not interested in real estate apps.

Real estate app called “Bat Dong San.” Before I bought an apartment, I rented apartment using this app. Easy to view photos of houses for rent.
I use game apps for leisure purpose. I also use O2O apps like food delivery, table reservation apps for convenience.

In general, Vietnam lacks well-built apps. Vietnam real estate apps only show basic information about the property, lack design consistency, lack trustworthiness and transparency.
I hate apps that 
  • have advertisement hiding important features in apps 
  • have unnecessary information
  • fail to match user’s expectations of apps
  • lack user-friendly interfaces and coherence
