The Sports Innovation Challenge by Georgia Tech Athletics
This hackathon is open to any sports or athletics-related idea. However, we worked with Georgia Tech to identify some real-world problems they need help with. You can choose to build projects against these challenges, or you can do your own sports or athletics-related project. It’s up to you!

#1: BUZZ A.I. - Build Georgia Tech's first AI game day assistant.
New to Bobby Dodd Stadium this season, guests can now contact stadium management with any gameday issues or with any gameday inquiries by texting BUZZ to 78247. Beginning four hours prior to kickoff through one hour postgame, fans can communicate with stadium management on all issues, including security, parking, facility topics, guest services, etc. GT athletics is currently using GUEST ASSIST http://guestassist.net
The Challenge: Create a Chatbot powered by AI / Machine Learning(maybe Watson?) that acts as a virtual usher(Alexa-ish) to help answer fan questions that are currently answered by staff manually. We will have data from 4 games of issues and responses.
The first few steps will ask you to clone code from GitHub. So if you do not have one, please google it, register for an account to be able to clone the code. And have Git installed on your laptop. (GitHub provides the sample code students can use. It is a free development platform inspired by the way you work. From open source to business, you can host and review code, manage projects, and build software. https://github.com/ )
(Optional) Review GuestAssist app: http://www.guestassist.net/ This is the GT fan site/app that could ultimately interface with your‘chatbot’.
Incorporate GT game day conversations into Watson and help Watson with GT fan engagement. See separate‘file’ with ALL game day communication thru Guest Assist(previously ALL MANUALLY TYPED IN by GTAA staff).
Note: not able/no information to integrate with actual GUEST ASSIST app at this time. Next step for winner.
