The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Graphic design falls into this strange and challenging battle between being objective or subjective.

  • Objective: expressing or dealing with facts or conditions as perceived without distortion by personal feelings, prejudices, or interpretations

  • Subjective: arising out of or identified by means of one's perception of one's own states and processes; modified or affected by personal views, experience, or background

Assignment
Find 5+ examples of graphic design that you would consider good and 5+ examples of bad graphic design. Print out each example on 8.5x11” (portrait or landscape) paper. Be ready to explain your reasoning next class.

The web is certainly a great resource for finding examples of design, but I encourage to look beyond it. Not all of your examples should be from the internet.
