3. Objectives
BACKGROUND / MARKET INFO
Sveiva is a large organisation specialising in infrastructure (building and maintaining roads) with a high number of rotation of personell changes (due to the nature of their business). Today these personell changes requires a lot of manual labour to manage.

GOAL: to streamline the process by using digital smartness, giving Svevia a cost efficient system that reduces manual labour and errors.

CONCEPT: a new digital service we create for our new employees, efficiently onboarding them before they start working at Svevia. At the same time automating as much as possible of the process handling of the process for our employees.

BENEFITS: the concept will improve internal workflows for management thereby reducing cost, time and errors, while securing the best possible start for new employees.

GOAL FOR INT.s CONTRIBUTION: to create a presentation with a storyline that clearly communicates the concept and its benefits, thereby convincing the internal stakeholders in Sveiva to invest in the new onboarding system.

4. Presentation

The storyline should
  1. Explain the current situation and it’s challenges (create empathy with the problem)
  1. Outline the value of the new service (drive interest for stakeholders)
  1. Present the user journey from the point of view of both mangement and the new employee
  1. Hint of what the service can become in the long run - such has salaries and invoicing expenses (ref. “parked functionality” by the client)

5. Media
The storyline can be made in a sequence of still images presenting the user journey (for Svevia to add as a part of their presentation, excluding steps 1, 2 and 4) OR as a self-running movie ref. https://vimeo.com/90952175 to include all of the elements of the storyline above.

  1. Storyboard (planning the storyline)

"Today, Svevia has over 2000 people coming and going every year. This requires a lot of time to administer when they start. Needless to say, that costs a lot”.

“Onboarding of a new employee involves many administrative tasks, done by many roles in the company, and can quickly escalate in amount of work if our systems aren’t well designed.”

“For new employees, we may come across as a bit old-fashioned, as many of our processes are still manual and paper based, therefore having to start from scratch for every time a new form has to be filled.”

“But it doesn’t have to be like this. Enter ‘Svevia Onboarding’ — a service to make it more efficient for new employees to prepare for their first day — and save time for the management”

“It all starts with the manager registering the new employee in the system, and defining what steps to bring him or her through.”
