Unused space

Areas marked in red could be removed without sacrifing fuctionality. Removing them would make  “workspace” larger and UI cleaner. 

Loading and engine bar.
  • Merging with top bar would remove one row that isn’t used anything else.
Camera and light buttons
  • option to hide these buttons for people that use shortcuts 
  • merge with bottom bar or turn them into hover icons (e.g. picture bellow)

Menu snaping
  • Smaller snaping area (to move bar closer to edges without snaping) or use modifier key to stop snaping (e.g. bottom image from Fusion 360)
  • Custom “favorite” nodes to keep only most used ones 
Main menu bar
  • smaller main menu bar with essential buttons and others hidden in submenu
Tab menu
  • close button could be moved into tab top like Google Chrome to seve one row.
3D View menu
  • shortcut for edit button (e.g. ctrl+left click) on top menu to open edit properties. It ise quiet chore to switch between these properties.
Texture preview on model
  • alt+left click on node to preview in as diffuse color.

Node shortcuts
  • add shortcut button in right click menu of nodes in Library
