So you are in Salesforce Classic and you keep getting those nagging reminders to try lightning experience as life is so much better on the other side. You drum up courage and have a peek at lightning but soon hurry back to the cosy classic comfort zone! What was all that white space? Where were my related lists? What is all the hype about? If you use custom objects this is the likely reaction!
To move away from Salesforce Classic you may need more than a nagging fluffy Salesforce character to persuade you. You may have an in house Salesforce Administrator, but they may have also lived their life in the cosy classic comfort zone and are reluctant to move to something that just doesn’t immediately look like Salesforce. Why fix something that isn’t broken?

Now is the time to Switch to Salesforce Lightning
From October 2019, Salesforce will automatically be switching over to Lightning for all users. They will be switched to the Lightning interface on a weekly basis which, if you have not prepared for the change, may leave your users scurrying for the back to classic option.
Salesforce Lightning is the future. If 2018 was about gearing up for GDPR then 2019 is the year to ensure switch to Salesforce Lightning. Salesforce have made it clear that All future Innovation will be on the Lightning Platform. You can be sure that one day there is going to be a killer Salesforce feature that will really benefit your business but it will only be available in Lightning
At the heart of Salesforce Lightning are the Lightning Components. Lightning Components are the User Interface building blocks of Salesforce. Every company will work in a different way and therefore Lightning components can be selected and customised to suit your requirements giving you a more intuitive page in order for you to plan your next steps.

Choose where you place components on the page. Why not have a related list above or on the side of the main details page if it is more relevant to your user? A better user experience helps you get the job done faster
The Path component, which comes out of the box on Opportunities, can also be used on any object. It is great for displaying the Status of a record and to give handy hints to the next activity.
Easily filter which components can be seen on the page at which stage of the process. This reduces clutter and less scrolling. You can even create a friendly reminder to the user if something is not in place. This is often more palatable and flexible than the harsh world of the Red Validation rule(which can also cause havoc with your data loading)
Wouldn’t it be great to be able to search within a list view? Now you can! Want to see your lists in Kanban view for easy sorting? Now you can!
Lightning Components on the App Exchange. There are a few gems that can be used on almost every page to bring such as Sortable Data Grids. The best Apps also come with some cool components such as Geopointes’“Nearby” component and the also the Image component by Sharinpix.
Dashboards - these are so much better in Lightning. With a little thought you can create some really impactful dashboards which drive behaviour towards your key business objectives

So thinking through the above list there is probably a bunch of tools available which is going to make your everyday work in Salesforce go a lot more smoothly! Yes things will be a little different to start with but within an hour or two there will be no turning back!
