The streambox relays environmental sounds in real time to a live online soundmap, operated by Locus Sonus at ESAAIX, Aix-Marseille. It sends a high quality stereo signal to a public server, where anyone can listen to it. The streams are not routinely recorded; but there is nothing to prevent them being recorded. This should be kept in mind when choosing a site.
