Chairman’s Message

I had the pleasure of attending my first in person Southwest Section gathering in Chandler, Arizona in April—the BLOOM meeting was a fabulous first experience. Anele Brooks, Janice Odell, Susan Steeb and I attended as delegates representing the San Luis Obispo 99s. We met Jillian Jensen, who recently joined our chapter, as well as many new friends.

At the business meeting, Anele was recognized with a box of Shredded Wheat to represent all the shredding she’ll be doing as the incoming Section Secretary, and Susan received a box of Cheerios, to help her stay cheery as she is recruiting women for next year’s slate of officers.

The meeting was filled with information, fun, flying stories and education. Come to the May meeting for the full report. Also at the May 4 meeting, we will elect chapter officers(see the slate of candidates below). It’s not too late to volunteer for an office—contact Susan Steeb for more information.

Don’t forget, voting for International Officers is currently open and will close on May 1.
Last week I hosted a fundraising meeting and the ladies came up with a great plan for raising scholarship funds over the next year. We’ll be looking to each of you to help in the implementation of our program, so stay posted for updates.
