Letter from the Chair

Time seems to be flying by. At the beginning of May I attended my first GOPA(Grumman Owners and Pilots Association) meeting in Palm Springs. The flying treasure hunt, Grumman Limbo, and Taxi & Parking contests were great fun and challenging. My partner and I finished 2nd in the flour bomb drop, and I tied for 3rd in the limbo.

The month is quickly winding down. It’s hard to believe that I have been chair for a year, and it’s time to elect officers to serve for the next year. Below you will find a slate of officers that will be presented for vote at the June 7th meeting. Although we have one individual elected for each office, we would love to have additional help and back up for each position. If you are interested in serving in an assistant role, please let me or another officer know.

Speaking of time flying by, Charly Schaad has served as Slipstream editorfor over 12 years, collecting and sharing our stories, photos, events and activities. A huge thank you to Charly and her husband, Rene, for their contributions to the SLO 99s. You will be greatly missed, and we’ll be eager to hear about your next adventures!
The June meeting will be a social/dinner gathering at the Spirit of San Luis, hope you’ll be able to attend.
