A server is a computer or another type of computer equipment in charge of supplying information to a series of clients, which can be both people and other devices connected to it. The information that can be transmitted is multiple and varied: from text, image or video files and even computer programs, databases, etc.
Virtualizing means installing one operating system into another, thanks to the use of a virtual machine that appropriates part of the computer's features(processor speed, RAM, etc.) to simulate an environment where another operating system can operate as if it was another program.

GEORCHESTRA
The geOrchestra platform provides standard web services, to discover(CSW), views(WMS, WMTS), symbolization(SLD), query and download(WFS), editing(WFS-T), and even process(WPS) geographic features . It also provides powerful web applications that make use of these services(and eventually, the combination of them). Interoperate perfectly with GIS programs such as QGIS and ArcGIS.
It is a Content Management System(CMS, for its acronym in English) for geospatial data that allows the creation, sharing, and collaborative use of geospatial data.
This GIS(geographic information system) was designed to solve Big data’s challenge. Constellation is able to collect a massive flow of data, from different sources and formats.
Constellation-SDI successfully combines performance and ease of use through an efficient ergonomics and 7 years of research and development. Based on the API Geotoolkit and Apache SIS, Constellation-SDI is a development base for web applications, mobile or desktop.
