Starting May 13th, you may upload a PDF with your project details via the official Hackaroma web page: https://aromajoin.com/hackaroma[scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the registration form]
Your PDF proposal is 100% freeform! Include whatever you feel is necessary to share your wonderful idea. Text, images, illustrations, anything is acceptable. If the majority of our judges agree the project is a good fit for the Aroma Shooter, your proposal will be graded on the project’s potential usefulness, its novelty, and how feasible it will be to complete by June 15th.
What’s possible? 🤔
The Aroma Shooter is a precision scent delivery device used by fragrance manufacturers and entertainment providers. It uses very powerful technology, however it has some limitations. Keep these in mind as you brainstorm ideas:
The effective range of an Aroma Shooter is about 2 feet and diffusion occurs directionally. This means that only a single person, facing the device and within close range, will be able to smell the diffused scent at full intensity.
Smells don’t linger! The most powerful aspect of the Aroma Shooter’s inner technology is that end users can only smell something while diffusion is activated. The downside is that the Aroma Shooter can’t handle ambient scent applications or fill a room with persistent smells.
Do not extend continuous diffusion time past 10 seconds. The hardware will overheat! Make sure to give your Aroma Shooter a three-second break after each long diffusion. If possible, try to keep diffusion times under 5 seconds.
The Aroma Shooter is not loud, but it does make noise. Keep this in mind if you have a use case that requires absolute silence.
We can’t guarantee the availability of any particular Aroma Cartridge, so try to make your use cases independent of a specific smell.
You’ll need an external battery or power source to operate an Aroma Shooter, which means a physical connection via USB is required.
What are the Aroma Shooter’s major advantages?
You can blend scents and adjust the intensity of scents individually. This is great if you want to prototype and invent new smells instantly, or adjust the intensity of smells gradually.
You can toggle scents super fast. Like really fast. Like less-than-a-second fast. This is perfect for end users who want to compare multiple scents in one quick session.
