A few caveats: I only lived there for 2 years, so lots of people will have way better recs than I do. I also included some things on here that I haven’t actually been to, but have been on my bucket list. And there will likely be more manhattan recs than brooklyn recs since I lived in manhattan. There’s a lot in here, so I added ⭐’s to my top picks throughout. Move your cursor to the left side of the screen to jump to a specific theme or area.

Quiet Morning’s @ Moma — I’m not sure if they’re still doing it, but they used to open up the museum early just for people who wanted to come and medidate. It was amazing as it was so much quieter and more peacful and a great way to start the day.
Dia: Beacon— I’ve never been, but this is one of the most interesting art museums about 1.5 hour drive or 2 hour train from NYC and has some incredible art. Dia: overall apparently has like 11 locations so one good way to look up is by exhibition.
Storm King — Also outside the city, big sculptures and stuff

Katz Deli — super super famous and fun classic jewish deli experience. You’ve probably already been. They used to be open 24/7 pre-pandemic but looks like they have more normal hours.
Sadelle’s — kind of expensive / usually needs a reservation, but a unique jewish food experience
