Notes
What draws you to this conversation?

Heather serves on Board of CII, is member of NCDD, met Ben on his initial virtual World Cafe conversation in 2010. Regular grief and despair over these issues, and Tom and Ben serve as a lifeline, nourishing this work, and she hopes to nourish back.

Brian somewhat opposite of Heather; it's all new to him as he begins exploring what next in "retirement".

Judy: invited to the call by John Abbe of Great Climate March. The march fueled her interest in engaging around this issue.

John: NCDD board member, been watching this unfolding; in a place of skepticism and curiosity.  Feels possibility energy and curious to see what might emerge this inquiry/conversation.

Heather questing after theory of change, has seen seismic change coming over the past 40 years, but even now it still happens under the radar.

Brian...looking at this from an evolutionary perspective and considering that "This" likely won't happen in our lifetime and that we could/should be looking at what the preparation of ourselves and others to carry on will look like.

John: Resonates with what Brian said.  Has become somewhat comfortable with doing what he can and being content with that; stepping into this space feels like an "acceleration" for him.

Brian: Erasmus Darwin, grandfather of Charles Darwin--noting the importance of the evolutionary-intergenerational perspective.

Erasmus Darwin http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/history/Edarwin.html is the one who is made to look like a monkey in the drawings from that time

Judy: struck with diversity in the group in how we're dealing with the circumstances; is an optimist and leans toward optimism; has a sense that everything we do matters, regardless of whether or not one can "see" an immediate result; showing up matters, as does listening for the "other" voices speaking

John:  struck by sense of individual purpose and that what each one does matter, whether it bears fruit across a large segment of society or bear fruit in the lives of their children.  Hearing in this group a different  sense of "urgency"...do what one can now.

Heather: friend told her that things are just getting worse; led her to think that she simply needs to do what she can, living well and loving well.
