0 - Limited Dissolve

1 - Object Setup

Vector P Field

3 - Mask Random objects to create desired arrangement

List Mask (out)

4 - Subdivide the edges (like re-sampling)

Matrix Apply - no need to apply matrix to Viewer - done before sent
Subdivide lite - subdivides the edges to a given (cut) number
note: initial scale was too small -  go large








5 - Working Meta-balls base setup


6 - Modifying the meta setup


7 - There is an issue with scaling that needs to be addressed… at least where blender 2.8x is concerned.

To get the Vector Noise to scale properly I need to change the second scalar from multiply to divide.
