Looked to source 4 projects to fund with 8,000 USD each and offer cohort-like structure.
Goal:
Create data and experiment with a cohort like structure, prove out incubation abilities.
Learnings from the last month sourcing projects
// Looked to source 4 projects to fund with 8,000 USD each and offer cohort-like structure.
It was really hard to source early stage dapps with the prospect of earning revenue
There’s still not a large critical mass of dapp development happening — not the right timing yet, need to invest more into the community and incubation internal teams
Need to potentially invest into educating and providing resources to the top of the funnel idea stage teams around business models, case studies of traction & insights
All the potential projects in our pipeline are all at various stages of the product cycle with various milestones and needs — cohort structure awkward to apply
Take-aways
Tried to overstretch when the timing and condition of the market wasn’t right
My guess it that the first revenue-gen DAO projects won’t be conducted and coordinated via a cohort like structure
Focus on simply matching projects with a mentor/champion
More deal flow our way, just not focused and within our scope
