What is Parkour?

Parkour is about overcoming obstacles

Parkour is using natural movements to move through your immediate, physical environment. This creates challenges for you to convert into opportunities, to progress and grow physically and mentally.

Parkour is an alternative to traditional exercise, helping kids and adults become more playful, confident and capable.

Why Parkour?

“My kid is already very athletic.”

Great. Let’s teach them some Parkour moves to improve their natural athleticism. Whatever they are doing now, Parkour will help them do better.

“My kid is a little shy.”

No problem. Nothing breeds confidence and courage like taking immediate action. Parkour will give them instant feedback for how they are doing and improving their movements.

“Will my kid be safe?”

Absolutely. Parkour is all about safety. We prepare by progressing and practicing the little steps to achieve a bigger step. Your kid will advance through each step. Purposefully. Safely. Confidently.

“My kid sometimes takes chances.”

Got it. Parkour will teach your kid to be aware of what they can and cannot do. They will learn to listen to that fear, or confidence, to make an instant, good decision.

Curt turns “I can’t” into “I am”

“When watching my kids take a parkour lesson recently, I overheard a kid whisper to himself, "I can't do this". Curt caught earshot of this. He stopped the exercise, and talked about not using the "C" word. "Yes, you can do this. Yes, you are doing this. Yes, you are getting better. Then on with the exercise. No drama, just straight love-talk.”
~Todd Clarke, papa of two parkour students

“Some kids just need a nudge, at the right time, using the right technique, with the right voice.”

~ Curt Jordan, Founder of Kong Academy

Parkour is growing

Parkour was once promoted and considered an extreme sport. Not so anymore.

Parkour is about movement. Anyone can (and should) do it. I’ve been teaching Parkour to people from three to 80 years old. Motion is lotion, baby.

Parkour is a functional, physical education. It inspires personal growth, builds confidence, and will open your kid’s mind to new ways of using their bodies.

Sure, watch the crazy Parkour videos on YouTube. Here’s a few. They’re fun and thrilling. And, make no mistake... that’s not the foundation of Parkour.  The foundation is to...

Learn to use your body better RIGHT NOW.
