Needs to be done
Notes:
Clean remainder of furniture that needs to be moved to storage.
Need - an electrician as soon as can be located to survey the electrical system for a smarter way to distribute electricity throughout the house.(Refer to Bob's #13 update.)
Clean all grit off the floor(sweeping, vacuuming) 10/6
Lay tar paper over all subfloor(minus the bathrooms - need to determine our way forward for these. Need budget numbers to determine options.)(10/6-10/7)
Lay underlayment throughout the house.(10/7-10/9, labor dependent)
Plug all"openings" with fire caulk.(10/9)
If the walls are dry at the sill plate level, install insulation.(10/10)
Install drywall(normal and moisture resistant).(10/10 plus) This can be"easily" accomplished on the walls where the wood paneling was removed. I have calls in to two separate drywall installers to provide the solution and cost to match wall depth on the walls that have the 24" removed. Recall that the"old" wall depth does not match a standard drywall sheet depth.
Once bathroom reconstruction is determined -
-underlayment
-handicap supports
-moisture resistant sheetrock
-toilets
-tub/shower & fixtures
-paint
-flooring
-vanities
Transport furniture to storage.
Demolition: TOOLS TO BRING: work gloves, hammer, chisel, safety glasses, pry bar, crowbar, drywall saw(electric), etc.
Remove floor & wall tile from both bathrooms
Remove vanities from both vanities
Remove bathroom fixtures
Remove walls to 24” above the floor
Remove remaining wood paneling
Remove insulation in exterior walls
Remove remaining kitchen cabinets
Once the above is complete:
Yard Work
Remove first layer of plywood sub-floor and portions of laminated sub-floor
Spray an enzyme solution on the entire floor and bottom of walls
After spraying, there will be an extended drying period
