IDEAS FOR USING MEDIA

MAKE GIFS
GIFS are easy to make and can be used in other ways - for example; to analyse changes over time, show movement, or illustrate a process or moving parts as infographics.
Old film footage can provide some excellent original source material for creating GIFS. Check out these links for source material.

COLOURISE B&W IMAGES
Open or Public Domain photographs and illustrations are an ideal source for adding colour to B&W image. Flickr Commons has thousands of suitable images and is an excellent place to start.

INTERACTIVE MEDIA

Interactive media involves adding interactive elements, such as hyperlinks to digital resources. It is an excellent way of adding extra information.  You can transform a page of online text, a map, an image, or a video into an interactive learning experience. Browser based tools make creating learning resources such as interactive timeline simple and straightforward.

THEN & NOW
A combination of today’s ubiquitous digital cameras/mobile devices, an increasing availability of open historical images and easy to use editing software, online apps and tools, means we have a great opportunity to bring the past and the present together in a photographic or video format.
