Helpful App Critique

Featuring guest critic, Paras Memon

Critique Info

In our critique structure, there are three active roles: the presenter, the first responder (1r), and the notetaker (N).

If you’re the presenter, you’ll share your screen and walk us through your project. You’ll talk about your intentions, process, troubles, and design decisions. Once the presenter is done, the first responder will jump in and kick off our discussion. The notetaker will closely listen to the comments and take notes on this dropbox paper. The notetaker will summarize key findings so that we have an archival record, and so that the presenter can review the notes after they present, so they can focus on the discussion during their critique.

If you are marked as the “1r” you are the first responder. If you are marked “N” you are the notetaker and will take notes on this page.

Create Space Feedback
  • nice to see process and inspiration
  • nice to be able to customize, quieter space, personalize
  • teachers are og ppl who made content pages, nice to see that used as example
  • gives context to projects instead of just end result

The motif of the splash represents the messiness of conversations about modern art- i.e. seeing an abstract painting and saying ‘my kid could have made that’. This is a very clever take on your icon. Mood board is image forward, text is bold and easy to read. There is room for more engaging, eye pulling interaction with some of the UI elements.
The app is very functional and the scaling works well.  The comments in Lorem Ipsum could be switched out with demo information that illustrate a conversation about art.
Is there a way to revisit all that you’ve commented on in the past?
Personal comments stay within your collection.
Art is community-- it helps to know what others think about a piece of art. Seeing that engagement inspires one to also engage.

-more community based, share opinions.
-drew inspiration from reddit.
-a lot of top critics sites (rotten tomato, or other critic apps) tend to be more populated by white people.
