Gov Group Grant Proposal

What are some deliverables that we could commit to in the gov group grant proposal? Brainstorm potential projects/workstreams below β€‹πŸ‘‡β€‹

  • β€‹β€‹β€‹βœ…β€‹ β€‹πŸ™‚β€‹ β€‹πŸ˜€β€‹ β€‹πŸ‘β€‹ Research on Radiks and Collections post Stacks 2.0
  • β€‹β€‹β€‹βœ…β€‹ β€‹πŸ˜€β€‹β€‹πŸ†β€‹ β€‹πŸ‘β€‹ Develop β€œCan’t Be Evil” code of conduct/manifesto for Stacks community
  •  Manage and support community-built decentralized Radiks
  • Some have created their own solutions: Paradigma Crosscheck / Pravica
  • Manage and support community-built decentralized Collections
  • Manage and support community-built decentralized Collections and Radiks
  • β€‹β€‹β€‹πŸ†β€‹ Develop proposal for new version of app mining
  • β€‹β€‹β€‹πŸ‘β€‹ Develop contributing guidelines for GitHub repos
  • Jason: thought - this would be a good tester to putting through a grant app (simple)
  • β€‹β€‹β€‹πŸ˜€β€‹ Develop a proposal for how the group should evolve to allow wider community participation/leadership
  • Meetings β†’ Updates β†’ Blog Posts (for wider sharing / regular publishing)
  • Increased transparency and creative options for community wide participation relevant to Governance Working Group decision making/activities
  • β€‹β€‹β€‹πŸ™‚β€‹ Organize a governance hackathon
  • β€‹β€‹β€‹πŸ†β€‹ Fund ongoing research into more effective governance strategies and tools (e.g., DAOs, token-based voting, quadratic voting/CLR funding, democracy)
  • Gather community feedback on the desire to have full user profiles.  With the current connect ux, users have to revert to the command line to update their profiles, including adding adding a name or avatar.  From a developer perspective, enabling users to add information to their profiles allows a greater level of personalization.  Users may not want personalization, so these fields should be optional.  Proposed fields include those previously included in the Blockstack browser. Name, avatar, email, etc…
  • Management & support of a path to decentralized & distributed governance network. (Sufficient paths can be vetted via app chain deployment in SIP process.)
  • Support for Web3 or Stacks based communication (Friedger’s OI chat w/ Matrix’s Element Client)
  • Create a method of financially rewarding programmer’s contributing to Stacks development: example: https://tip4commit.com/ 1
  • A Ethereum Foundation supported entity with a focus on only developer education/onboarding and organizing hackathons all over the world. I saw some projects are tie-ins between Ethereum and IPFS/Filecoin.
