Feedback - 3 days in Avana

Room : 

I had the “normal” room, not the lowest category but the second one (1 category lower than Adam). My room was still 98 square meters and I had an amazing view on the valley (apparently it’s one of the best view of the hotel).

  • The decoration is really amazing
  • Bed were extremely comfortable
  • Nothing to complain about the bathroom, if you can see below you need to close the curtain since this room is quite close to the road
  • Super fast Wifi
  • Complimentary minibar with 2 fresh juices everyday (1st day Watermelon, 2nd day passion fruit)
  • AC is working extremely well, really silent, we were there when it was like 36° outside


Ipad :

The entire hotel is connected through an App, with every room doted with an iPad : 
  • You can order buggy on it in 2 clicks (pickup from the villa and from the important places inside the hotel)
  • You can order room service, access to the menus from the different places (restaurants, pool-bar, massage, etc.).
  • You can see all the different activities available (and book the activity), a map of the hotel
  • You can CHAT with the reception, therefore if you have a question it feels to much easier than calling the reception “Hi, is the morning walk the same on saturday & sunday or do you change everyday” took me 10 seconds. 
  • You also receive alerts in case of special event “free finger food at th epool bar”
  • And probably many other things I have not tried

The property : 

  • it’s difficult to explain how big the property is, if you go around taking pictures it will take you like 2 hours
  • You can see the main waterfall in a picture, it’s STUNNING (even though in general I hate waterfall)
  • The nature around the hotel (dragonflies everywhere !) is fantastic, I thought my nephews would love it (ducks surrounding the restaurants, fishes in some water ponds, etc.).
  • 0 noise at all (even the bike from the security is electric)
  • Below the museum there is a lady weaving traditional thai costumes
  • You can see one of the pool villa (which was being cleant at that time, a part of the building is missing on the picture)

Food

Food is one of the main topic to improve (they are aware of it). It went from excellent to quite bad during my stay. You can see below: 
  • Small snacks & cakes served at check-in (juice/tea was excellent)
  • Pork with Mai Chau Spices
  • Chicken Sandwich Room Service
  • Breakfast (English Set) with complimentaty Bread / Cold cuts / Cheese
  • Set Menu (800 000 VND) with Starter (salmon, excellent), Soup (excellent), Beef with mashed potatoes (good) and Dessert (bad)
  • You can also see the free finger food provided at the pool bar every day, we ordered juice on top of it
