DRiP - Ch4 Revisions - Peer Review
  • Add figure number and title to Ch4 diagram @Luiza A
  • Add - when acquiring data from a partner, must be sure to get any and all available documentation @Maria J
  • Check ordering: make sure it is clear that data ownership and licensing must be established before the receipt of data from a partner. @Maria J
  • Clarify: DUA should establish not only intended use by also what data elements will be received. Negotiating access to specific data and ensuring all parties understand the elements that will be transferred is often critical. @Maria J
  • P75: “All confidential data must be handled in such a way that only people specifically approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) are able to access the data” - also in accordance with the data licensing agreement. @Maria J
  • add a Wiki page discussing the different solutions for encryption in transit (especially with regards to sending data not generated via specialized data collection software, like admin data) and link to it from the book. Our internal model is outlined, so the page would be developed having this as a starting point. @Kristoffer B
  • Missing content on survey management, especially developing survey protocols, selecting and training enumerators. Revise chapter to ensure it is clear that field management is critical for data quality, and either revert some of the content or increase the salience of the links. @Maria J
  • p71 on content pilot: make more explicit that this is where you check for political sensitivities and for enumerator/respondent interactions (should sex of enum/resp match, is the question understandable in the local dialect) - revise the text to more explicitly point the reader to the wiki articles related to this especially the checklists related to survey piloting (e.g. https://dimewiki.worldbank.org/wiki/Checklist:_Preparing_for_a_Survey_Pilot) @Maria J
  • Note the importance of psychometrics during piloting particularly if a team’s main outcomes will include indices @Maria J
  • Discuss sampling difficulties when it comes to secondary data sources, especially in terms of representativeness of population (eg big data analysis) @Maria J
  • Wiki page on merging and combining data
  • Tools and methodologies employed for data collection require different levels of licensing and data security. At times, both are not distinguished but viewed together. @Maria J
  •  In the survey section, survey distribution, sample and dropouts (particular sections) can be added as it involves efforts as much as the survey design → expand the Wiki resources on monitoring response rates, attrition, monitoring, and data quality, and add/emphasize wiki links in Ch4 @Maria J
