Core Interaction: Lab – Programming Suggestions
Throughout the semester we’ve discussed the fundamentals of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. These are topics that take years to master; we’ve only begun to look at the surface of how to create websites. For the remaining time we have in class together, I’d like to get a better understanding of what you would like to focus on individually.

Please take a few minutes to describe some areas that you’d like to focus on. It can be related to code we’ve discussed in the past, or technical skills/knowledge you’d like to spend more time on in the future.

Maybe a review of how the syntax of jQuery and JavaScript works. I think following along with demos was effective. Also understanding how to/when we can chain different selectors in jQuery.

Sarah Kim

Expanding more on jQuery and Javascript. I think it would be helpful to do more step by step instructions while we’re following along on our own computers as well. That way, if something doesn’t work/we can’t figure out how to do it we can ask you while we’re in class.

I still feel like I need more review with Jquery/Javascript. I think one thing that was helpful for me was seeing you do demos while following/working alongside. Otherwise I feel like I don’t actually understand what I’m coding and I’m just copy/pasting.

Jquery and Javascript. Specifically being able to work out how we can code the javascript if we have a specific interaction in mind. Like a step by step of what we need to identify, and how we should begin the syntax and work through it to achieve what we want. Also looking at existing websites and seeing how they coded a particular thing would be really helpful.

I think I’d like to continue learning about jQuery/JavaScript, especially if/else statements since I think they’re useful and important but I still get confused a lot by how to use them.
