Idea and concept is nicely focused and creative. Clear structure that allows the user to focus more on each one.
Creating an interface that is more user friendly, since the text is so big and spaced out it can be very easy to forget about the images.
Dig into your archive for more detail.
Really interesting how you separated both public and environments.

  • Whole site is well refined with the minimal aesthetic
  • Consistency with photography makes a pleasant viewing experience and highlights the food
  • Lets the content speak for itself, makes it clear how you’re supposed to interact with it
  • Maybe dividing the details of food to go deeper into the content
  • Have an opportunity to “surprise” the user, maybe your own thoughts on some food
  • Integrate the title of the project as the “home” link instead of saying “home”
  • Experience with cropping the images closer in the thumbnails
  • Play with the order/spacing of the grid
  • The order/repetition of the photos raises questions from the users - wanting an explanation of personal aspects like whether or not the food changed your mood in a tupperware compared to being plated
  • Make “home” link on bottom position: fixed for users to see it the whole time while scrolling

Daniela (first responder: Hunter, Notetaker: Sophie S.)
  • Maybe incorporate a summary at the end of you own thoughts/end notes on the project
  • Navigation - hamburger to allow user to navigate in their own way
  • Graphic language fits the sims but still feels different and complementary
  • Bringing in hand drawn moments to define the two voices more.
Hunter (first responder: Sophie S., Notetaker: Allison)
  • Nice concept – brings in artists’ work to convey that
  • Consider a different way to show pop-up (i.e. resizing) or giving it a different treatment rather than covering the gallery
  • Pop-up is too big? Create a clearer distinction for the user to close the pop-up?
  • The integration of the germ design with the gallery is nice.
  • Consider a background colour that compliments the majority of your images. Or even a way for the user to view the image only, so there’s not always a large piece of text fighting with the image.
  • The gutters make the images feel boxed in – maybe rework to have more intention (smaller to match the margins)?
  • Maybe shorten image captions?
Sophie S. (first responder: Allison, Notetaker: Malini)
  • Grid gallery works well but images could be clickable to make it ore intuitive
  • Back to top button would be helpful
  • Condensing the index so that the image and captions are in the window together
  • More intentional navigation
