Blockstack Meetup 1
We really appreciate your willingness to help us grow the community through Meetups, you and the activity you’re creating in your community are a critical part of the growth we’re seeing and an integral part of the future of the network. We want to make this as seamless and easy as possible, so to help get you off to a quick start, we’ve packaged up most of what you’ll need for your first Meetup here in this document.

Getting Started

If you haven’t yet, check out this guide on getting started with your Meetup. It includes the basics as well as growth and content recommendations for your Meetup Events.

Action:
  • Schedule a call with the Community Team to discuss budget and basic details

Content

We have two good options for you here, both courtesy of members of the community. You can choose Dan Healy’s deck or Chase Wackerfuss’ for your first Meetup. Both are a great starting point for a room full of people that are new of relatively new to the project.

  • Feel free to download a copy of these and make them your own!

As for actually presenting the content in these presentations, you have a few options:
  • Present it yourself if you feel comfortable
  • Have a developer that’s familiar with Blockstack from your community present it and put their own spin on it
  • Work with us to have one of Blockstack PBC’s core developers or technical Evangelists present it at your Meetup, either in-person or virtually depending on availability and travel expenses. If you’d like to go this route, just let us know as soon as you have dates locked in and we’ll source someone great for you as best we can.

Reimbursement

We don’t want you to have any out of pocket costs in the course of organizing a Meetup. Stick to your budget and keep your receipts and we’ll reimburse any costs inline with the budget we created with you. When you’re ready, we have a few ways for you to choose from. → Get reimbursed
