Take Home Exam: Problem Based Questions

Purpose 🎯 

As you prepare to work in your chosen field, it is important that you know how to apply the concepts you have learnt at university to solve real-world problems. Through this take home exam you will evaluate information, apply the concepts you have learned, along with your problem-solving skills.

Task Description ✏️

To complete your Take Home Exam
  1. The questions in the Take Home Exam will be selected from content covered in Weeks 6 - 13.
  1. To prepare for the Take Home Exam, it is important that you are familiar with each of these topic areas and concepts covered, so please start preparing well ahead of time.
  1. On 9:00am on Tuesday, 19th of May you will receive the Problem Based Questions (there will be six (6) different options, you must answer four (4)).
  1. You will have until 5:00pm on Tuesday, 19th of May to complete and submit your Problem Based Questions.

Ensure you understand the requirements of the Take Home Exam: Problem Solving Questions:
  • Read the Instructions and Checklist carefully
  • Read the Marking Rubric carefully

Step 2: Topic Review
Review all the material covered in Weeks 6 - 13, including:
  • Lecture slides and lecture notes 
  • Tutorial tasks and activities
  • Readings and the text book
  • Tip: identify what you already know and understand, what you need to know, and how you can find out and/or learn additional information

Step 3: Critically Engage 
To help you engage with the material, it is recommended that you: 
  • Annotate your notes 
  • Draw a mind map or diagram of information you have
  • Write summaries in your own words
  • Develop a list of key terms and concepts 
  • Draft questions to test knowledge of the material you have just studied
  • Tip: learn general rules and principles rather than masses of unrelated facts
