Activating your connection to HomeAway
Activate HomeAway as a channel partner. HomeAway will contact NewBook Support to activate your Direct Connection with HomeAway.
Contact your assigned HomeAway Account Manager or Support. He or she will set your account and listing preferences so that you can begin the activation process.
Review the activation process with anImplementation Specialist. AnImplementation Specialist will contact you to confirm that your account is ready and set an appointment for your activation project.
Begin your project after an Implementation Specialist contacts you. When it is time for your appointment, an Implementation Specialist will contact you to begin your project. He or she will send you a link to a mapping tool that you can use to map your Vrbo listings within NewBook. The mapping tool is user-friendly and straightforward, but if you have any questions, please ask your Implementation Specialist.
To find your property IDs within NewBook, go to Categories. Using Configure Table Columns[1], enable the ID #column[2]. Your HomeAway property ID will use the following format:[region]-[instance #]-listing-[category #], where region is AU, AP, EU, or US. For example: AU-1000-listing-1.
Enable your listings to feed over to HomeAway. You can do this by performing these steps:
Navigate to 3rd Party Booking Channels > HomeAway.
Ensure that you meet theCategory Requirements[1] before starting the mapping and then click Save or reload the page to refresh requirements.
CompleteGeneral Channel Mapping[2], ensuring thatStatus[3] is enabled.
Complete Tax Free Mapping[4], which overrides the Tax Free option configured on any Category Inventory Items used for fees.
Configure Feature Mapping[5] as completely as possible. At least one bedroom and bathroom feature are required.
After all Category Requirements[1]are addressed, complete Category Mapping[6] as required.
Complete and return the Mapping Spreadsheet with the external IDs from NewBook. The Implementation Specialist will then work to set up your Listings and Online Booking(OLB) integrations. If you had existing listings on HomeAway, the Support Team will work with you to transfer reviews to your new listings.
Troubleshoot issues and use the HomeAway dashboard. Your activation is almost complete!Your Implementation Specialist will end the project with explaining how to troubleshoot errors on your nightly audit report and how to navigate your HomeAway dashboard. If you have any questions after your project closes, contact the Support Team for Integrated Property Managers(see bottom of this document).
Note: After you are integrated, NewBook becomes the system of record for rates, calendars, listing content, and photos. Any listing content entered on the HomeAway dashboard will be overwritten by the feed.
To update your listing headline, navigate to the category in question to update details. Headlineis a combination of your NewBook category Name[1] and Short Description[2].
Alternatively, a HomeAway-specific Short Description[2] can be provided by navigating to 3rd Party Booking Channels > HomeAway,clicking the Category[1] name, and entering your desired Short Description[2].
Description
To update your listing description, navigate to the category in question to update details. ShortDescription makes use of your category’sfull description[1].
Alternatively, a HomeAway-specific full description can be provided by navigating to 3rd Party Booking Channels > HomeAway,clicking the category[1] name, and entering your desired FullDescription[2].
Location
To update your property’s address and latitude/longitude, navigate to the site in question to update details. For single unit listings, this will be the only site. For multi-unit listings, this will be the site you previously entered the address on. Using the Address Lookup[1]field will ensure latitude and longitude are correctly populated.
Property registration number
Property registration number is not currently supported in NewBook.
