​​Our core process here might be to state if there are any "tensions" we are holding that need to be addressed immediately, and to have the conversation the holder of that tension needs in order for it to be resolved for the moment.

​​This was an experiment that did not get traction! We have, however, used the "resolving tensions" framing for our host team calls.

​Ben, 1/2 I feel a need to decide align on, or delegate, the decision about what we will invite people into on hackpad following the 1/6 World Cafe.

​​Not feeling like a naturalized denizen of hackpad (such that I can think with and within hackpad culture), I am inclined to let you make any final decision.  My sense is that they would be invited to take notes for their WC group, to read notes of other WC groups if they want, to post any sessions they'd like to convene in the online OS, and to look over the OS offerings before, during, and after the virtual OS and sign onto any OS sessions they'd like to participate in.  But I'm not 100% sure what that means or how to talk about it to people in a way that would have them actually engage and DO it.   • ​​[Ben, 1/3] Yes, Tom--there is a limit to what we can ask people to do without overwhelming them, AND we have a large number of options on the table. I think we need a balance between inviting focus on a few specific things and asking people to browse/wander around to find what is most resonant for them. Maybe we also need some orientation calls. Here are some ideas for the specific focus request:
  • ​​Some kind of meaning-making from the World Cafe, which could either be on the main pad for the call itself (which I still need to create) or on a separate, linked pad. I'm voting for the former.
  • ​​Initiating Open Space topics, and participating in the ones that have started online already (speaking of which, did you intend for your strategic use of conversation topic to be discussed online, or were you just posting background in prep for the live call on the 13th? [I expected that all Open Space topic pages would be used for online discussion AND prep for live calls. - Tom 1/3] ).
  • ​​Posting Intros and "What's Possible?" answers.
