Round One Question:
  • What is alive in you that could play a role in what we need to discover and do?

Collaborative Notes
@Jeff Aitken
  • I have paid attention to the bottom and edge of system. Paying attention to voices marginalized. Who are the leaders of new social movements, who are making themselves and their leadership known. Also what kind of space that bring together the new voices with those who have been out there.
Gary Horvitz
  • I have been on this listserve, but not active in D&D. About to set off to Asia for some months. One of my intentions is to be communicating about climate change to middle school students in Nepal.
  • Following a personal creative process without having a specific outcome. Cultivating a broadest possible consciousness and level of awareness. A wide view that is necessary to be in the moment more than focused on a particular outcome.

Joseph: based in northern California. Quite a bit is alive in me.
Intense curiosity about the next unfolding for our species. tremendous compassion for the situation we are in. metaphor that comes to me: completely up for being an oarsman for the boat of the great turning. each of us grabs an oar to best of our ability. my oar is facilitation and collaboration around complex issues. This field is so alive, so many threads. beautiful refinements of social technologies for deeper consciousness. Continue to cultivate my own gifts and personal consciousness plus working with folks of all genders, ages, backgrounds to increase our ability to experience the world collectively.

Robert: Morristown NJ. newer member of convening group.
Main concern as attorney and grantmaker and consultant in OD: challenge i see in how siloed approaches to major issues - are so intertwined yet addressed as if separate. alive in me is languaging how they are donnected, pattern that connects them, understand those enterprises that are already factoring in strategy that can be used when these separates are seen together. what happens re real important traction when they are related to as part of a whole system.

What is needed to be done?
  • To discover the enterprises are thinking systemically enough to have formulated strategies to meet the complexity we face.
  • Tom has been researching and documenting these exemplars.
  • Otto & colleagues who travel in different worlds may be able to bring together people to take a comprehensive/strategic approach.
  • Thinking systemically and listening locally
  • The more broadly we listen, the more relationships we create. We can convene large convos that create strategic opportunities
also trying, enacting, being wiling to stumble as we also try in our day to day work to engage beyond the narrow into the larger and see how .the narrow and that which it is a part of all benefit....

Can anyone repeat that question?
